I’m looking forward to our Annual Open Day next week. As well as being able to tour our site, visit the wildlife garden there will be our wide range of regular stalls and events such as the Dog agility show, Bee demonstration, bouncy castle, Morris and Clog dancing, craft stalls, plant sales, Bodging demonstration, candle rolling, raffle and home made cakes. This year we’re also pleased to be having the Bromley Woodcraft Folk along to do woodcraft and cookery demonstrations (find out more about them at Bromley woodcraft folk).
The Open Day is on Sunday 19th May at 11am – 3pm. It’s free entry and there’s something for everyone. Hope to see you there!
It’s still a bit chilly but the daffodils were out at the allotment yesterday and the sun was shining. The buds on my fruit trees look set to burst into flower at any moment. I think after our never ending winter maybe, perhaps, Spring is finally on it’s way.
With the weather looking like it’s going to be against us again this year, why not give plants the extra boost they will need and mulch your plot with well rotted compost or manure. You won’t have to drag it back from the DIY shops – Paul can deliver straight to you plot – just ask in the shop.
Whilst you’re in there have a look at the massive variety of Kings seeds including many old favourites and many new varieties all at reduced prices! Also stock up on bamboo canes for you runner/broad bean wigwams and also on soil enhances to give them and extra boost.
The Shop is open Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 1pm – even in the freezing cold! If you need something at other times there should always be some one on site who has a key, please feel free to ask.
