Drowning in courgettes? Too many Peas to Pod?

If you would like to swop your courgettes for some onions please check out the VEG SWOP in the shop!
Please leave any unwanted vegetables in the shelves outside and if there is anything there that you would like to swop it with please help yourselves!

Please also pop into the shop and look at the brochure to pre-order you over wintering onion sets – the more we order the less the cost will be and you will have lovely onions for the start of next season.

Hope to see you soon

Water shortage??

After a glorious Bank Holiday weekend when everyone went planting crazy so begins the rain. Whilst it cuts down on the watering it would be nice to have a few more days when we can get the plants in the ground please! If anyone needs any more organic compost, peat or manure don’t forget to pop in the shop. This year we are stocking grow bags so please see in the shop for details. We also have surplus stock of plants left over from the Open Day, lovingly grown from seed by Roz so please pop into the poly tunnel and pay in the shop for any that take your fancy. Dave’s Pine Berries were a big hit at the open day – they are a white strawberry that taste of pineapple – he has a few left so please ask Dave (the Bodger) or in the shop. Never too late (not this year anyway) to sow or plant out – hopeful the frost has gone but you never know.

Ready ….. Steady …… Sow…

Or should that be Snow!

With the weather looking like it’s going to be against us again this year, why not give plants the extra boost they will need and mulch your plot with well rotted compost or manure.  You won’t have to drag it back from the DIY shops – Paul can deliver straight to you plot – just ask in the shop.

Whilst you’re in there have a look at the massive variety of Kings seeds including many old favourites and many new varieties all at reduced prices!  Also stock up on bamboo canes for you runner/broad bean wigwams and also on soil enhances to give them and extra boost.

The Shop is open Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 1pm – even in the freezing cold!  If you need something at other times there should always be some one on site who has a key, please feel free to ask.
