Brilliant Bonfire Bash!

I thoroughly enjoyed our Bonfire night celebrations this year.  Bonfire nights at the Allotment are always good, and seem to get better each year. This year the format was slightly different….

first the bonfire was lit… bonfirethen we had our Bonfire supper of baked potatoes, cheese and beans, sausages, pumpkin soup and spiced apple punch. This was followed by a firework display…bonfire and fireworkIt was a fantastic evening. A huge thanks to the Committee who organised the event, cooked the delicious food and set up the clubhouse, to Paul for building our huge bonfire and Tony and Paul for setting off the fireworks.  And of course to our members who turned up, brought fireworks and enjoyed the evening.

Fantastic Open Day!

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to everybody who helped make our Open Day last Sunday such a fantastic day, either by helping out/performing/talking to visitors or visiting us.

There were so many fantastic moments; from the North Wood Morris Men and Old Palace Clog dancing, admiring the handiwork of our face painter on the little faces running around, the home made cakes, cheap plants and much more. But my favourite moment was when Clive emptied a box of bees in front of their new hive. The audience gasped!

Here are a few more snaps –  a video compilation is on YouTube.
