Thank you to everyone who joined our Community Spruce on Sunday 25 February. We had a successful morning planting native trees along our boundary with Maberley Road Playing Fields to create a new wildlife hedge. The crack team of tree planters also filled in gaps in other recently planted hedges.
The trees were provided free of charge by the TCV I Dig Trees campaign and included Downy Birch, Rowan, Dogwood, Dog Rose, Wild Cherry, Crab apple, Hazel, and Elder.
Our volunteers also pruned some of the established hedges, including along the path to the bonfire area and around the communal area in the centre of the site.
At the end we squeezed into the shop to enjoy a well earned cup of tea and cake.
Our next Community Spruce will be at 11-1pm on Sunday 24 March.
